To whom should the invitations be addressed?

Invitations are always sent to both members of a couple, even if the bride knows only one of them or if only one of them is expected to attend. When addressing an invitation to an unmarried couple living at the same address, their two names should be on two lines:

Ms. Jane Brent
Mr. Peter Dobbs

The same goes for invitations sent to same sex couples.
